Home Energy Rebates around Decatur, GA

Eligible Homeowners can SAVE up to $14,000 with the HEAR program….Learn how:  Georgia’s Home Energy Rebates are offered through the Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) program. The HEAR program provides point-of-sale rebates for qualifying households that install ENERGY STAR® certified appliances, insulation, ventilation, and approved electrical upgrades. These rebates are designed to make energy-efficient home improvements more affordable, especially when upgrading older HVAC systems, water heaters, electrical panels, and wiring to support modern electric equipment. Eligibility is based on household income, with the program available to homes earning less than 150 percent of their county’s Area Median Income (AMI). For reference, in the Atlanta metro area, 150% of AMI for a four-person household is roughly $171,000. More details, including income limits and covered upgrades, can be found by downloading the official HEAR program PDF.

Renters & Rental Properties

Renters can qualify for HEAR rebates. Eligibility is based on the tenant’s household income, not property ownership. In many cases, landlords may apply on behalf of tenants using the tenant’s income to qualify the property.

This allows renters to benefit from more efficient heating, cooling, hot water, and improved home comfort — even without owning the home.
